Just an idea

Writing as a retired businessman that has run a business for over fifteen years without going bankrupt or owing anyone any money when I ceased trading, and looking at the complete shambles that our members of Parliament have made of getting Great Britain out of the even more shambolic European Economic Community.I would like to propose that We should pass a law that would exclude anyone from applying to become a member of Parliament unless they can prove that they are able to run a business, selling a product or service, for at least five years, that can make enough profit to at least provide a reasonable standard of living for a family with two children.

I would hope that such a prerequisite would weed out the numbskulls that are unable to count up to twenty without taking their shoes off, and would give the electors some hope that at least their representatives have got some idea about how the real world works
